Dr. Adetutu Aghedo is currently a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Civil and Environmental Engineering. Her expertise is in atmospheric chemistry,  emissions estimation and modeling, using satellite remote sensing retrievals and ground-based measurements. She researches the impact of emissions on air quality through numerical model simulations, in combination with observational data.

Due to the technical demand of  her research, Dr. Aghedo is also an advanced scientific programmer, with the ability to modify old and generate new algorithms for simulating atmospheric processes, analyzing atmospheric and meteorological data, and for data visualization. She is skilled in Interactive Data Language (IDL), Shell scripting, Unix/Linux commands, Fortran, C/C++, and proficient in NetCDF, HDF, NetCDF Operators (NCO), Climate Data Operators (CDO) and NCAR Command Language (NCL).

Dr. Aghedo offers the capability to gather, analyze and synthesize large data and information, and provide conclusion and recommendation based on the results of the analysis.

At Rice University, her voluntary community service includes teaching, assisting and mentoring graduate students in Cohan’s research group, and being a guest lecturer.
